Paris Hilton plans to visit Rwanda as part of her post-jail commitment to use her celebrity status to bring attention to social causes.

“I’ll be going in November, after I get back from filming my movie,” she tells E! Online in a story posted Tuesday on the Web site.

“There’s so much need in that area, and I feel like if I go, it will bring more attention to what people can do to help,” Hilton says.

The 26-year-old hotel heiress-actress vowed to use her fame to bring attention to social causes after serving a 23-day jail sentence earlier this year for violating probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

“I want to visit more countries where poverty and children’s issues are a big concern,” she says. “I know there’s a lot of good I can do just by getting involved and bringing attention to these issues.”

Hours after strolling the red carpet in a strapless black dress, Paris Hilton traded her designer duds for a jail-issued jumpsuit.

The 26-year-old heiress checked into the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday. She’s expected to serve three-weeks for violating her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

Hilton surrendered to sheriff’s deputies after making a surprise visit to the MTV Movie Awards in the afternoon.

“I am trying to be strong right now,” she told reporters on the red carpet. “I’m ready to face my sentence. Even though this is a really hard time, I have my family, my friends and my fans to support me, and that’s really helpful.”

Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said Hilton was easy to work with.

“Her demeanor was helpful. She was focused, she was cooperative,” he said.

Hilton turned herself in at the Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles just after 10:30 p.m., then was escorted to the all women’s facility in Lynwood, where she was booked, fingerprinted and issued a jail uniform, Whitmore said.

She also was given her first meal: cereal, bread and juice.

So far, Hilton does not have a cellmate, Whitmore said.

The “Simple Life” star will be housed in the “special needs” unit of the 13-year-old jail, separate from most of its 2,200 inmates. The unit contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates.

Like other inmates in that unit, Hilton will take her meals in her cell and will be allowed outside the 12-foot-by-8-foot space for at least an hour each day to shower, watch TV in the day room, participate in outdoor recreation or talk on the telephone. No cell phones or BlackBerrys are permitted in the facility, even for visitors.

The jail, a two-story concrete building next to train tracks and beneath a bustling freeway, has been an all-female facility since March 2006. It’s located in an industrial area about five miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.

“I did have a choice to go to a pay jail,” Hilton said Sunday, without giving details. “But I declined because I feel like the media portrays me in a way that I’m not and that’s why I wanted to go to county, to show that I can do it and I’m going to be treated like everyone else. I’m going to do the time, I’m going to do it the right way.”

When she was sentenced May 4, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled that she would not be allowed any work release, furloughs or use of an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in lieu of jail.

Sometimes stars are allowed to do their time in a jail of their choosing. In such cases they pay a daily room-and-board fee to the smaller jails, which afford them more privacy and comfort.

“She has been strictly advised to stop acting like a Hollywood brat and appear more humble as they battle to keep her out of jail. From toning down her outfits and going for a conservative look. Along with that a lot of white to make her look like an angel.

The heiress has also told pals she is quitting booze, cutting back on shopping and no longer racing around in luxury cars. She's even started hitting the gym with her personal trainer and is learning self defense in order to protect herself from inmates who have threatened to attack her.

Paris Hilton's lawyers have ordered her to show the judge some humility and social responsibility in order to get her sentence reduced. Which means, less partying and more time with her family. Paris is definitely abiding by these rules, this weekend she went to visit dad Rick who is in the hospital with a huge home-made birthday card. The Simple Life’s Paris Hilton has, in more than one occasion, subjected her self to VIP treatments in most aspects in her life. But with the gravity of her current charges, her money, power and charisma might not work in favor of her freedom. Or can it?

As we reported previously, the 26-year old hotel heiress has been faced with a possible jail sentence due to the violation of her probation on alcohol-related driving charges. The Simple Life actress now faces a 45-day sentence at the Century Regional detention Center on June 5.

But with the Hilton’s jail sentence already out in the public, the model-actress is now more than eager for a rematch with the law. "No one is above the law. I surely am not," she said in a statement issued through her attorney. "I do not expect to be treated better than anyone else who violated probation. However, my hope is that I will not be treated worse."

In an effort to escape her jail sentence, Hilton has appealed her case to petitioning Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for a pardon, though she claims that she aware of the gravity of her charges.

"I absolutely realize how serious driving under the influence is. I could not live with myself if anyone was injured or killed while I was driving while impaired," she said. “I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation."

How can someone humiliate Paris Hilton? Ask her to sing publicly! Paris was in Las Vegas last weekend and she decided to attend Prince’s gig at the Rio Hotel & Casino. Prince thought it would be a good idea to invite Paris Hilton on stage to join him.

Hilton was “delighted” and reportedly went up on stage and stood next to him, while Prince handed her a mic and told the audience: “Let’s see if she can really sing.”

Hilton quickly sprinted off stage(not singing) and left the club two songs later. I take it she isn't going to go on tour?

Hilton's Hearing May 4

Paris Hilton was ordered Tuesday to appear in court May 4 for allegedly violating her probation in a reckless driving case by driving with a suspended driver’s license.

City prosecutors are seeking to revoke Hilton’s probation on grounds that she violated its conditions, which could result in a sentence of up to 90 days in jail.

In January, Hilton pleaded no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving stemming from a Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood and was sentenced to 36 months’ probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines.

On Feb. 28, she was ticketed for misdemeanor driving with a suspended license after her car was pulled over on Sunset Boulevard. Police said they saw her car speeding with its headlights off.

Hilton, 26, wasn’t present for Tuesday’s hearing before Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer. The hearing was conducted almost entirely with lawyers at the bench speaking in hushed tones with the judge.

Outside court, Hilton’s attorney, Howard Weitzman, was asked whether the matter was close to being resolved. “It is,” he said without elaboration.

The prosecutor didn’t comment to reporters.

Hilton’s spokesman, Elliot Mintz, has said that at the time, Hilton wasn’t aware that her license had been suspended.

Paris Hilton’s lawyers can’t take a joke. Back in January the heiress thought it would be funny to poke fun at herself in regards to her drunk driving incident in a series of skits. It was shot for the MTV show ‘ShortCircuitz’ but
Paris’ lawyers are threatening to sue if the skit of Paris airs tomorrow.

Why the frigidness? Well after the skit was shot, Paris ended up getting pulled over by the police and it turned out that she was driving with a suspended license. Now, she might face jail time and her lawyers are basically working overtime to avoid that at all costs!

The episode, which was supposed to air tomorrow, featured Paris promoting a fake bracelets that read ‘What would Paris Do’. In of the clips it shows a blonde getting pulled over by the cops for drunk driving and after reading her bracelet, the blonde begins grinding the police officer. The so-called officer says: “I can’t arrest you, you’re too fabulous.”

Paris Hilton May Face Jail

Paris Hilton has been found in violation of the terms of her probation and faces a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail, the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office announced Thursday.

Hilton, 26, was spotted Feb. 27 speeding down Sunset Boulevard around 11 p.m. without her headlights on, says LA Sheriff's spokesman Oscar Butao. After pulling over her 2007 Bentley Continental GTC Convertible, officers found Hilton was driving with a suspended license – the result of her DUI arrest last September.

In that case, she pleaded not contest to a lesser charge of alcohol-related reckless driving on Jan. 22, and was placed on 36 months probation.

Hilton's rep and attorney were not immediately available for comment.

The 26-year-old actor, who co-starred with his former flame in the 2006 straight-to-video movie Pledge This!,claims they had sex together when Hilton was just 15, three years shy of the legal age of consent in California.

Randy tells the New York Daily News, "We were together for like two months. We went to Palm Springs once for the weekend. We broke up like a week later."

Randy said he recently bumped into Hilton at a Los Angeles nightclub, and she has a special place in her heart for him. He enthuses, "She came up to me and she was like, 'I want to say hi to Randy.' She was like, 'Randy took my virginity. I want to say hi.'"

Las Vegas showman Jeff Beacher had a 29th birthday treat on Saturday night thanks to the Hilton sisters.

A night after celebrating gossip king Perez Hilton's 29th birthday in Los Angeles, Paris Hilton jetted off to Las Vegas to wish the entertainer and Beacher's Madhouse host a happy 29th.

Beacher even got a song out of the hotel heiress, who attended the birthday bash at Body English with her sister Nicky.

He says, "It was a real treat. Paris sang "Happy Birthday" to me. What more could a man ask for?"

She didn't sing "Happy Birthday" this year, but she gave him a little friendly kiss. She was in attendance with Josh Henderson, the hottie who recently starred on "Desperate Housewives". Nicky Hilton was there, too.

Paris Hilton the Victim of Airport Theft

Paris Hilton is facing more legal drama, and this time it has nothing to do with last year's late-night munchies-fueled DUI arrest. The blond bobble head allegedly had personal items lifted from her luggage by a T.S.A. employee, reports TMZ.
The Los Angeles City Attorney's Office has filed misdemeanor theft charges against 10 airport employees suspected of stealing personal items from stars like Hilton and singer Keyshia Cole, reports the L.A. Times.
Hilton's overworked rep, Elliot Mintz, said his client was not aware of the charges. Because, like, keeping tracking of every measly piece of luggage is, like, so not hot.
